Buyers can receive up to 1% of purchase price of a qualifying transaction as a tax-free refund.  Refund may be created towards closing costs and, subject to lender approval, any remaining balance will be issued by check within 14 days after closing.  Appropriate legal & tax advice should be sought.  

How does the Hampton refund work?

When representing a home-buyer, Hampton earns a commission from the seller, usually worth 2% - 3% of the home price.  This commission is set by the selling agent.  If Hampton receives a commission of 2.5% or less, your refund will be .5% of the home price.  If Hampton receives a commission over 2.5%, your refund will be 1% of the home price.

Here is an example:

~ You pay $500,000 for your home
~ The seller's agent gets $15,000 (3%)
~ Hampton gets $15,000 (3%)
~ Hampton refunds $5,000 back to you after closing (1% of home price)
